Konfigurasi IuB dengan ATM

On UMTS protocol there are two protocol stacks, user plane and control plane. 
  • User Plane
User plane is protocol for transport user data. On circuit switched domain, data within bit pipes. On packet switched domain this protocol for implementing various QoS or traffic engineering mechanism. The User Plane is employed for transport of
· user information (speech, video, IP packets ...)
· RRC signalling messages (Iub, Iur)
· higher-layer protocol information at Iu interface (if not carried by RANAP).
User plane data is carried by data bearers which use AAL 5 in case of Iu PS and AAL 2 in all other cases. User data streams are packed in frame protocols (FP) which are used for framing, error & flow control, and carrying of parallel data flows that form the user data signal (e.g. AMR encoded speech).
  • Control Plane
Control plane is protocol for signalling. On circuit switch domain based on SS7 (in core network), on packet switch domain based on IP (core network) and on Radio access Network used as UTRAN protocol

NBAP (Node B Application Part) is application protocl between NodeB and RNC on Radio Network layer are used for the actual signalling between NodeB, RNC and core Network.
Generally, the Iub interface configuration sequence is as follows:
  • Configure the data on the physical layer.
  • Configure ATM traffic resources.
  • Add the data on the control plane.
  • Add the data on the user plane.

Links on the Iub interface:
SAAL UNI Link:
The SAAL UNI link carries signaling messages on the Iub interface. Based on the type of signaling messages, the SAAL UNI link is of different types: NCP, CCP, and ALCAP.
AAL2 Path:
The AAL2 path is a group of connections between the RNC and the NodeB. At least one AAL2 path is configured for each Iub interface. It is recommended that more than one AAL2 path be planned.
The AAL2 path is configured on the RNC interface board (on Huawei vendor AAL2 configur in AEUa board, AOUa board, or UoIa board) and is controlled by the SPU subsystem to which the associated port controller belongs.
The AAL2 path is carried over a PVC. The PVC identifier (VPI/VCI) and other PVC attributes must be identical on the RNC and NodeB sides.
IPoA Link:
The IPoA link, also called the management plane link, transmits the OM information of the NodeB.

These are the data that should be negotiated on the IUB interface
